Skadden Fellows Fight Arizona Law

Former Fellow Jennifer Chang Newell ('04) was quoted in a New York Times article about a federal appeals court decision in a case that she helped argue. The ruling overturns a lower court's denial of a request to halt Arizona's policy of denying driver's licenses to young immigrants who have received work permits and avoided deportation under an Obama administration program ("Court Blocks Arizona Policy of Denying Driver's Licenses to Some Immigrants," July 7). Jennifer said the appellate court's order was "sending a message," adding that "deferred-action recipients have a right to live and work in this country, and states cannot discriminate in this way." Current Fellow Rodkangyil Orion Danjuma and former Fellow Michael Tan ('10) also worked on the case.
