Steven Choi and Atlas: DIY Featured in Article on Deferred Action

Former Skadden Fellow Steven Choi (’04) and Atlas: DIY — co-founded by former Skadden Fellow Lauren Burke (’09) — were featured in a New York Times article about the challenges of enrolling undocumented immigrants in the federal Deferred Action Childhood Arrivals program (“Advocates Struggle to Reach Immigrants Eligible for Deferred Action,” Dec. 8). The article followed Atlas: DIY fellow Susan Pan and intern Wendy Tsang as they tried to find people in a heavily Chinese neighborhood in Brooklyn willing to discuss their immigration status. “It’s the only game in town right now for undocumented immigrants, and we need to do everything to maximize participation in the program,” said Steven, who serves as executive director of the New York Immigration Coalition.
