Former Fellow Sandra Park (‘03) and Fellow Linda Morris (‘18) are challenging unconstitutional nuisance ordinances that cause survivors of domestic violence and other residents to face penalties or eviction for seeking emergency assistance. Sandra and Linda wrote about the issue for the ACLU’s website (“A Disturbing Number of Missouri Towns Evict Residents for Calling the Police,” Jan. 24), and their advocacy was reported on by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (“Letters Sent to Six St. Louis County Municipalities Over ‘Problematic’ Nuisance Ordinances,” Jan. 25).
