Former Fellow Claudia Gordon (’00) gave a TEDxUniversityofRochester talk about her experiences since losing her hearing at the age of 8, including as the first deaf black female attorney in the United States. She discussed “a life in which I was present, but invisible, a life wherein I was constantly forced to master spaces where I rightfully belonged, but to which I was unwelcome, because of one or more of my intersectional identities.”
