Former Fellow Naomi Sultan (’15) has been elected to the Santa Monica Rent Control Board. The board, along with the Rent Control Agency, is responsible for carrying out the goals of the California city’s Rent Control Law, including controlling residential rents, limiting the grounds for eviction, preserving rental housing, encouraging maintenance and ensuring rental property owners a fair return.
