Former Fellow Michael Kaufman (’08) was quoted in an Associated Press story about the discovery of nooses made from bedsheets hanging in more than a dozen cells at a Southern California immigration detention facility (“Nooses Found in California Immigration Detention Center,” Oct. 3). “It is long-past time for ICE to do what the Constitution and basic humanitarian principles require: to ensure the safety and welfare of immigrants incarcerated at [the] Adelanto [Detention Facility],” Michael said.
