Former Fellow Laurie Ball Cooper (’11) wrote an op-ed for The Washington Post regarding Attorney General Jeff Sessions’ new policy barring victims of domestic abuse from applying for asylum (“Sessions Holds Safety Beyond the Grasp of Abuse Victims,” June 17). “The many flaws in the attorney general’s decision may lead to it being reversed,” Laurie wrote. “Still, thousands of women will be turned away in the meantime, denied refuge and sent back to their fates — beatings, rapes and for some, death.”
