Veryl Pow Outlines Abusive Practices of Bail Bond Companies

Fellow Veryl Pow (’17) co-authored an article on the abuses associated with unlicensed bail bond companies in an article in The Baltimore Afro-American (“Unlicensed Bail Bond Companies Prey Upon Baltimore’s Most Needy,” April 20). Relying on such companies “carries a steep price for low-income communities of color, particularly when [they] demand unaffordable collection amounts and charge exorbitant interest rates,” Veryl wrote.
