Cassie Chambers Featured in Article on Jeanette’s Law

Fellow Cassie Chambers’ (’16) work that led to Jeanette’s Law, a Kentucky law that ends a loophole in which survivors of domestic violence may be required to pay for their incarcerated spouse’s divorce attorney, was highlighted in an article on the website Scalawag. “Chambers told [Jeanette’s] story, and then made a case for passing legislation that would require the state to pay for court-appointed attorneys in cases of domestic abuse,” the article said.
