Former Fellow Haben Girma (’13) received the American Foundation for the Blind’s Helen Keller Achievement Award on April 4. Haben, who was recognized for her work as a disability rights lawyer and as the first deafblind graduate of Harvard Law School, said Helen Keller has “had a huge influence on her life through her books, advocacy and incredible spirit.”
