The Courier Journal posted testimony delivered by Fellow Cassie Chambers’ (’16) client, Jeanette McCue, before the Kentucky Senate Judiciary Committee (“Woman Attacked by Husband, Then Has to Pay His Divorce Lawyer Fees,” Jan. 25). An op-ed that Cassie wrote about a law requiring Jeanette to pay for her husband’s divorce attorney, even though he assaulted her, resulted in a bill, “Jeanette’s Law,” which the committee sent to the Senate floor.
