Former Fellow Elizabeth Kristen (’02) was quoted in an NBC News article about her client, a lesbian whose discharge status from the Air Force has finally been upgraded to “honorable” 60 years after she was expelled (“Lesbian Veteran, 90, Expelled From Air Force in ’55, Finally Gets Her ‘Honorable Discharge,’” Jan. 18). Elizabeth said thousands of LGBTQ people discharged due to their sexual orientation still struggle with the hurdles her client has encountered.
