Michael Tan Praises Release of Girl With Cerebral Palsy

Former Fellow Michael Tan (’10) of the ACLU was quoted in a New York Times article about the release of a 10-year-old girl with cerebral palsy who was detained by Border Patrol on the way to undergo emergency surgery (“10-Year-Old Immigrant Who Was Detained After Surgery Is Released,” Nov. 3). Michael had helped file a lawsuit challenging her detention. Of her release, Michael said. “We’re just thrilled — it’s such a relief.”
