Former Skadden Fellow Vivek Sankaran ('01) was quoted in a New York Times article on child protective services rules and how forced short-term removals of children from their homes have become a frequent means of punishment of parents ("Foster Care as Punishment: The New Reality of 'Jane Crow,'" July 21). Vivek said, “We’ve inflicted the most devastating remedy we have on these families," who are "left to deal with the consequences."
