Former Skadden Fellow Sofia Nelson ('13) was featured in PrideSource, Michigan's LGBT magazine, for her work helping juveniles sentenced to life in prison in the state ("People's Champ: Attorney Sofia Valencia Nelson Fights for Second Chances in Michigan's Criminal Justice System," 2017-18). "I don't believe anyone is beyond hope," said Sofia, a member of the Michigan State Appellate Defender Office in Detroit.
