New York Immigrant Affairs Commissioner and former Fellow Nisha Agarwal ('06) was quoted in a New York Times article about a proposal to provide legal help to poor immigrants facing deportation, except those recently convicted of certain crimes ("All Immigrants Should Be Given Lawyers, Some City Council Members Say," May 31). Nisha said the exclusion would free up resources for others. "The scope of the need," she said, "is gigantic compared to frankly what the city can do right now."
