Former Skadden Fellow Ashley Waddell Tingstad ('12) helped secure the release of Patrick Pursley, an Illinois man who was wrongfully imprisoned for 23 years for a murder he did not commit. Ashley handled the case on a pro bono basis after her Skadden Fellowship. A photo of Ashley greeting Patrick as he was released from Winnebago County Jail on April 27 was featured in an article by the Rockford Register Star ("Patrick Pursley Free on Bond While Awaiting Appeal and New Trial in 1993 Rockford Murder," April 27).
