Leigh Goodmark Speaks on Domestic Violence Victim Laws

Former Skadden Fellow Leigh Goodmark ('95) was quoted in a Cosmopolitan article about laws that hurt domestic violence victims who refuse to press charges in their cases ("She Didn’t Want Her Boyfriend to Go to Jail. So They Sent Her to Jail Instead," April 13). Many states require accused abusers to be charged against the wishes of the victims, which Leigh says is actually "punishing victims in the name of keeping them safe."
