Former Skadden Fellows Alvaro Huerta ('11), Jennifer Rosenbaum ('03) and Karen Tumlin ('08) helped secure a federal court ruling that a Louisiana law preventing certain foreign-born persons from obtaining a marriage license likely is unconstitutional. The Fellows worked alongside a team from our Los Angeles, Boston and Washington, D.C. offices. Alvaro said in a statement, "Denying the fundamental right to get married to certain people because of where they were born or because of their immigration status isn't just morally wrong, it's against the law."
