Nisha Agarwal and Steven Choi Comment on NYC ID Program

Former Skadden fellows Nisha Agarwal ('06) and Steven Choi ('04) were quoted in a New York Times article about efforts to stop the city from destroying records associated with its ID program, which is popular among undocumented immigrants ("New York City Should Keep ID Data for Now, Judge Rules," Dec. 21). Nisha, the city's immigrant affairs commissioner, said the city's announcement that it will stop keeping applicants' personal data this year "shows a commitment to protecting people's information." Steven, executive director of the New York Immigration Coalition, said nobody knows how strongly the Trump administration might try to pursue the information. "That's the wild card," he said.
