Former Skadden fellows Elizabeth Saylor ('02), Susan Shin ('06) and Claudia Wilner ('03) helped obtain a $60 million settlement for New Yorkers who alleged fraudulent debt collection practices. The settlement is expected to lead to the unprecedented vacating of approximately 200,000 default judgments, as well as to extensive injunctive relief in debt practices. The court described the settlement as a "remarkable resolution" that will bring "extraordinarily meaningful benefits to tens of thousands of individuals."
