Former Skadden fellow Liza Hirsch ('11) was quoted in a Boston Globe article about a report by state investigators about the treatment of disabled students at a Massachusetts school ("'Systemic Failure' Led to Abuses in Holyoke School," Feb. 16). Liza's report of abuse at the school led to investigations and policy changes. "Although [the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's] report does not adequately capture the egregious nature of some of the abuse and mistreatment, the report rightly concludes that the violations were the result of systemic failures," Liza said in a statement. "The response must be equally systemic."
