Former Skadden fellow Ingrid Eagly ('95), who directs UCLA School of Law's criminal defense clinic, was interviewed on public radio station KPCC about the clinic's representation of street vendors who are being targeted by law enforcement ("Defending L.A.'s Street Vendors," April 28). Ingrid pointed out that Los Angeles is one of the only major cities in the country that has a ban on sidewalk vending. "For the people who are vending on the sidewalk, these people are by definition poor, they're unable to pay a fine as high as $300 and then those fines can multiply with adding on interest and penalties and just become really crippling," Ingrid said.
