A letter to the editor written by former Skadden Fellow Udi Ofer ('01), executive director of the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey, was published by The New York Times ("Disciplining Police Officers," Jan. 23). "The city inspector general's finding that the New York Police Department rejected the Civilian Complaint Review Board's recommendations of discipline in cases involving police use of chokeholds exposes the inherent flaw of having a review board without the power to make sure officers are disciplined for misconduct," the letter said. "In Newark, community members are calling for a new model of accountability."
