Skadden Fellow Haben Girma was appointed the first deaf and blind board trustee of Helen Keller Services for the Blind, announced Jan. 22. "Haben has been a strong advocate for our organization, in particular HKNC, for many years," said Thomas J. Edwards, president and CEO of Helen Keller Services for the Blind and the Helen Keller National Center for Deaf-Blind Youths & Adults. "Her leadership will guide us in enhancing our efforts to work with individuals who are blind, have vision loss, are deaf-blind and/or have combined hearing-vision loss."
