Former Skadden Fellow Maya Wiley (’92), founder and president of the Center for Social Inclusion, appeared on MSNBC’s “All In With Chris Hayes” to discuss the shooting of 24-year-old Jonathan Ferrell, who was killed by North Carolina police (Sept. 17). Maya said Jonathan's death should sound an alarm about the disproportionate number of black people who are affected by gun violence. She said, "We should pay attention when black people are dying. Forty-five percent of all youth who are killed in gun violence are black. Fortyfive percent. Do we care?"
