Alvaro Huerta Comments on New Immigration Policy

Skadden Fellow Alvaro Huerta of Los Angeles’ National Immigration Law Center was interviewed on local public radio station KPCC about the Obama administration’s new immigration policy to reduce the time immigrants are separated from their American families while applying for residency (Jan. 3). In response to the policy change, Alvaro said, “I hope that we’re seeing the beginning of rational immigration reform and sensible policies that make sense for this country. It only makes sense to keep families together. It only makes sense not to separate the breadwinner from their relatives. It makes sense to keep the mother with their child.”
