A settlement secured by Skadden Fellow Shirley Lin of the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund on behalf of a former kitchen worker was featured in The Paramus Post (“Spitzer’s Corner Gastropub and Former ‘Apprentice’ Reach Settlement in Labor Exploitation Case,” Oct. 26). The worker, Edward Kim, filed an action against the gastropub Spitzer’s Corner alleging multiple violations of federal and state labor laws, including unpaid wages and minimum, overtime and spread-of-hours wages, the article said. Kim sought back pay and damages of more than $63,000. “The Parties have reach an amicable agreement, and the entirety of the matter was settled to the satisfaction of all parties,” Shirley told the publication.
